Save Your Fingers from Drying and Cracking

If your fingers are prone to drying and cracking, painting with pastels may cause them more harm. Save your fingers by using a barrier cream, such as “Gloves in a Bottle” and wash them with a non-water-based cleaner with lanolin, such as “Fast Orange Hand Cleaner” obtainable in hardware or automotive departments.

In addition, you may want to try using finger cots (I call them finger condoms) found in the pharmacy section of stores.
